Discover North Atlanta

Facilitators: Marvin & Amy Woodward, Kirk & Sherry McMillan
Summary: Here is your starting place. This introduction to the North Atlanta Church of Christ provides a new member or guest an overview of the background, beliefs, and purposes of the church. This is an ongoing one month class and you may join at any time. The class also explains opportunities for spiritual growth and congregational involvement.

Seniors Alive

Current Study: Spiritual Disciplines

This class involves people who consider themselves to be at retirement age.

Latino Ministry (Taught in Portuguese and Spanish)

Ambassadors/Visions

Location: room 104
Current Study: Ezra/Nehemiah

Summary: Participants in this combined class, whether married or not, are in the middle years of adulthood. If they have children, they typically have left home.

Foundations of Faith

Location: room 106
Current Study: The Book of Acts (Chapters 1-7)
Teacher: Don McLaughlin
Summary: This class is designed to help people of all ages get a grasp of basic principles of God, the Bible, and Christianity. Whether you are new to North Atlanta, have been baptized in the past year, or are an experienced believer who wants to provide fellowship and encouragement to those who are new—you are welcome to attend! This class is interpreted for hearing impaired persons.

Current Study: Sacrificial Systems
Teacher: Herb Dowdy
Summary: Most people in this class are married, single, or single again in the early or middle years of adulthood. If they have children, they are high school or college age.

Partners in Christ

Location: room 109
Study: The Sermon on the Mount
Teacher: Dr. Major Boglin
Summary: Participants in this class are typically in their 30’s and 40’s. If they have children, they are school-age (elementary, middle, and high school) and living at home.

Homebuilders

Location: room 111
Current Study: Gospel of Luke
Teachers: Paul Plsek & Scott Galloway
Summary: Participants in this class include couples who have started families and their children are typically pre-school age.

New Beginnings: Foundations

Location: room 112
Current Study: Divine Design

Summary: This class includes couples who have been married less that 5 years and includes engaged couples.

Young Adults

Location: room 115
Current Study: Old Testament character studies
Teachers: Mark Miller and class members
Summary: Participants in this class range from college students to young single adults.

Reaching Higher (Women’s Study)

Location: room 105
Current Study: The Inheritance (video curriculum by Beth Moore)

Summary: This class is for women of all ages who wish to study with other women.

ANCHOR Ministry

Location: FEC gymnasium
Current Study: Faith Basics
Facilitator: John Neiland
Summary: This class provides spiritual guidance to any person in addiction recovery. We also encourage people with no past addiction experience to participate in our small group Bible studies.

The Book of Job

Current Study: The Book of Job

Summary: Explore the most challenging questions of life in the book of Job where the mystery of God’s working with human beings is explored. Wrestle with the meaning of life through the suffering of the hero, who is a good man, and like his friends simply cannot understand why God permits him to suffer if he is truly innocent.

Praxis: The Future of Faith

Current Study: Praxis: The Future of Faith
Teacher: Don McLaughlin
Summary: The practice of the Jesus-formed life is the heart beat of our faith. Without practice, our faith dies…and it is a painful death. To the amazement of all who witnessed him, Jesus lived God. He didn’t just believe…he be-lived. Jesus was no show-off or showboat. He was who he said he was (Being) but he also lived out everything he believed (Doing). Praxis is the future of faith.

Off-the-Chain: Recovery Support

Location: Room 115
Current Study: Recovery Support
Facilitator: John Neiland
Summary: God wants you free from addictive behavior and substances so you are able to fulfill your true purposes in life. Off-the-Chain is a spiritual support group for those who struggle with addictions. Biblical principles serve as the basis to challenge every person to live free and faithful. This group is for men and women in recovery, as well as spouses, family members, and friends.
