FAMILY UPDATE: GOVERNANCE COUNCIL
Last Sunday, Kelly Brown shared an update about North Atlanta's Governance Council, which serves our church by overseeing strategic, financial, and structural matters. The Governance Council operates as a support structure, handling practical and organizational decisions so that our elders, staff, and ministry leaders can focus on spiritual leadership and care.
Our current Governance Council members are: Cheris Baker, Kelly Brown (Chair), Scott Gage, Shauna Roberts, Lee Strickland, and Missy Taylor (Staff Liaison). We are also excited to welcome Leonetta Vidal, who began serving in August. Looking ahead, Sherron Burgess and Je-Anne Berry will join the Governance Council in January 2026 after Cheris and Shauna complete their terms.
We are deeply grateful to Cheris and Shauna for their faithful service in this role, and we also honor Sarah Higinbotham and Tina Brown, who helped lay the foundation as the first women to serve on the Governance Council.

This session will give you the tools to make informed decisions that protect yourself, your loved ones, and your assets—while practicing faithful financial stewardship in every area of life.
MENTAL HEALTH TABLE TALK
Death is not an easy topic, and suicide is even more difficult. Statistics suggest that most of us have had a close encounter with someone who has contemplated taking their life, attempted to take their life, or taken their life. But when the topic comes up, many of us struggle to find the right words to engage in the conversation.
This reality has motivated our Recovery Ministry to partner with the Mental Health Partnership Network to host a community-wide Table Talk event focused on suicide prevention. As a church family, we want to prepare both ourselves and our community to navigate this conversation with love, awareness, and hope.
We invite you to join us for this important Table Talk gathering on Tuesday, August 26th, from 10 am to noon in Room 106. This session will help increase our awareness of the warning signs of people who may be considering suicide, and we will also discuss how to intervene with at-risk individuals.
Please email Christa Kendrick (christa.kendrick@nacofc.org) or Jasmine Turner (jasmine.turner@nacofc.org) for more information.

SMALL CIRCLE DISCIPLESHIP
Join us this Sunday as we continue our Small Circle Discipleship series.
What does it mean to be a part of a team? Years ago, a major corporation rented Madison Square Garden to host a company event designed to build up the sense of team. It was pretty exciting! Employees ran out of the tunnels and burst through banners celebrating them. But as exciting as this moment was, the observation was made in follow-up articles that the real sense of team happened in smaller local offices, where people connected with one another.
Every week, we celebrate the Lord’s Supper with all believers around the globe. We are part of a massive team! But the sense of team happens at a local level, in a local church. In this series, we explore how Jesus embedded small circles of transformative relationships into his plan to build the global church.
