Death is not an easy topic, and suicide is even more difficult. Statistics suggest that most of us have had a close encounter with someone who has contemplated taking their life, attempted to take their life, or taken their life. But when the topic comes up, many of us struggle to find the right words to engage in the conversation.
This reality has motivated our Recovery Ministry to partner with the Mental Health Partnership Network to host a community-wide Table Talk event focused on suicide prevention. As a church family, we want to prepare both ourselves and our community to navigate this conversation with love, awareness, and hope.
We invite you to join us for this important Table Talk gathering on Tuesday, August 26th, from 10 am to noon in Room 106. This session will help increase our awareness of the warning signs of people who may be considering suicide, and we will also discuss how to intervene with at-risk individuals.
